Class of 2018 and Class of 2018
How do you guys like Heart in Motion so far?
Casaun: “It’s pretty good. It’s a really good experience, being able to get a nice working environment.”
Jeffrey: “It’s his first day. I’ve been here longer, you know what I’m saying. I like the positive energy. I like the benefits; you learn how to be a leader.”
Would you rather be a potato or a yam?
Casaun: “A potato.”
Jeffrey: “I would have to say a yam, cause they’re sweet like me.”
Do you guys have any plans for the summer?
Casaun: “Just working and trying to get the rest of my volunteer hours.”
Jeffrey: “I’m trying to form a R&B group so I can make money.”
Have you guys thought about colleges yet, since you guys are juniors?
Casaun: “Yeah, just about to start doing my SAT and stuff like that, and looking at different colleges and scholarships.”
Jeffrey: “I wanna get a job before college to see whether I wanna pursue that career first, but I’ll go eventually.”
Where do you guys see yourselves in ten years?
Casaun: “Doing what I love to do, something that I don’t get tired of, and just being happy and successful. I know I wanna major in computer science to do something that involves computers and engineering, so something along those lines.”
Jeffrey: “I wanna be an entertainer, a chef, a barber, a father, and just be really influential among the Asian community, the White community, the African American community, everyone.”
Casaun: “Preach.”
What is the funniest thing that happened to you recently?
Casaun: “So, at my job, we were working inside of a gym, and my friend was running with a basketball screaming. He threw the ball at the back of the room, and it hit him directly in the face, and he fell backwards. All the little kids laughed at him. Kinda sad.” Jeffrey: “On Monday, I went to this youth center in Sunset. I went there with my friend and I’d never been there, so there were a lot of weird people. So we were on Youtube and there were these videos with millions of views. And there was this one guy; he said he produced those songs, but he was obviously lying. He was rapping it. There was this rap line that goes like this: ‘I talk but I don’t talk.’ I didn’t know what he meant; I don’t even think he knew what he was talking about. And also, he was producing a song. He only pressed on one key and added drums to it. I asked him if he wanted any bass lines or chords, and he’s like, ‘No, that’s too extra,’ so… that’s kinda weird.”
If you were the president of the world, what changes would you make?
Casaun: “I’d probably create more extracurricular activities to keep everybody moving and energized and feeling refreshed.”
Jeffrey: “I’ll probably build more youth centers, ‘cause I feel like we need those.”
If you were stuck on an island, and you could only have one food, which food would you have and why?
Casaun: “I’m having burritos ‘cause they’re really filling and filled with a bunch of different foods.”
Jeffrey: “I would wanna get hot pot, but it would give me diarrhea. So I would just probably say pineapple ‘cause I’d probably live longer.”
If you had a million dollars, what is the first thing that you would do with it?
Casaun: “[I would spend it on] my house and my family.”
Jeffrey: “I would build a headquarters for my record label.”
Anything else you wanna say?
Casaun: “The Warriors are the best team, hands down.”
Jeffrey: “Spread positivity. Also, our mixtape is coming soon.”
