What is one of your favorite memories or events from HIM?
One of my favorite memories from HIM is Escape from Alcatraz. I signed up for both days of the event because my friends were planning to volunteer at this event. There was free pizza for both days and I ate like 8 slices. It was hilarious when I stole the last pizza slice of the supreme (good stuff) on Saturday. My favorite part of this event was aiding the runners on Sunday. My friend and I had fun pointing to the direction the runners were supposed to go. Plus we created a new way of pointing. Anyways fun event! I would love to do this again!
What is your favorite part of volunteering?
My favorite part of volunteering is helping people who are in need. I want people to feel happy and not feel left out. It's not just the people in need, but everyone including volunteers. I love volunteering with my friends. Volunteering helps build strong relationships with my friends.
How has your experience been working with HIM?
My experience working with HIM has been fun. I like to volunteer at running events like Bay to Breakers, Escape from Alcatraz, etc. Before HIM, I didn't even know any marathons and had never watched one before. Also working with HIM allows me to explore the city.
What is the most valuable lesson you have learned in your life?
The most valuable lesson I have learned in my life is to take your time on your test. It was when I was in 3rd grade. I liked to rush and finish first on my test. My parents told me that it's not a race. Also they said that finishing first doesn't mean anything. So I took their advice and it worked. My scores were better than the test I took in the past.
What is your favorite TV show and character?
My favorite TV show is Spongebob Squarepants. I like this TV show because this show will always make me laugh. Sometimes I feel like this show makes no sense which is why I love it :D. Spongebob Squarepants is a living meme. My favorite character is Spongebob. It's like every time I see a sponge, it reminds me of Spongebob. He has a weird laugh. It's so hard to copy his laugh. Overall, great show 10/10.
What is one of your favorite childhood memories?
One of my favorite childhood memories is going to AT&T Park to watch the Giants game when I was 7. It was my first time going to AT&T Park. The Giants were playing against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The place was so cool and I love the view. I got a free backpack and my dad bought me hot chocolate, a hot dog, and fries. The game was great, but the Giants ended up losing the game. I got to sleep late that day. Fun experience! This is one of my favorite places to visit in San Francisco.
How has HIM affected your life so far?
HIM has affected my life by strengthening my skills and making new friends. Before joining, I didn't use Google slides, docs, sheets, etc that much. It was only for school purposes like an essay or a presentation. When I joined HIM, I started to feel confident using Google sheets, docs, etc. Also I made new friends. I have friends who attend other schools like Lincoln, Balboa, Washington, etc. My friends like to talk about their experience of the school they attend.
